Raé Miller is an American abstract artist residing Taos, NM. After eleven years living and working in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, she and her husband, artist William Martin, are loving life in the high desert of New Mexico.

Throughout her years in San Miguel, Raé painted and taught highly sought after workshops in her studio/gallery at Fabrica La Aurora. Raé's paintings and monotypes have been shown internationally in galleries and public installations, and her work is collected worldwide.

Her fascination with light and location and its effect on color, and the fleeting nature of memory of place, have been recurring themes in her work. While she doesn't limit herself to the use of a particular medium, she finds working with encaustic, oil, and cold wax most satisfying for their qualities of translucence and texture. Raé works intuitively and with intention, creating layers of stories uniquely told, reflecting her curiosity and her life experiences.

Raé's work was selected for the Rosewood Mayakobá Villas in Playa del Carmen, and another resort project in Cabo San Lucas. She was a board member of Indian Valley Artists, the art group who laid the groundwork for the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Novato, California. Raé is an occasional workshop instructor and presenter at the International Encaustic Conference in Provincetown, MA, and offers private instruction and workshops in her Taos studio and at various other venues.
